Build on demand
My idea is that, when building something, like a house, if you don't have enough materials, you can still start a project, but you can only finish it to the presentage of the amount of wood you have put in the project.
This will be helpful in echonamy now adays, it would make it easyer to build a house, and it would be COOL!!
But of course, not everything should be able to do this(like, swords, and bows, maby shealds...)

I kinda like it.
And bringing back the Real Life vs. Cantr discussion again, it holds up in real life. If you don't have enough wood to finish your building what do you do with the rest of your time? Wait for somebody to bring you the rest of the wood or go out and get it yourself? No. You just start building a foundation or whatever your making and wait for the rest of the materials to arrive.

What Mykeyrools said.
Would be realistic, would be nice, is probably a royal pain in the behind to program. Especially for things that require multiple resources.
And of course it doesn't make sense for stuff like swords, so somone would need to decide which of Cantr's one million objects this can be done with, and which can't.
An A for effort, though.

So long as he's talking about buildings I don't see how it is difficult to program?
IT's rather easy in fact.
You'd get the resources required for the building variable, then the amount that are currently in it. Turn that into a percentage.
Then when you start work on it,
if (percentOfResource == currentProgress)
stop,
or
if (percentOfResource == currentProgress)
set WorkingOnProject to 1
echo/display ErrorNotEnoughResources-message
Fairly easy.
It's a matter of wants.

Well I don't know about programing but I think this concept should only apply to buildings and ships (maybe even some vehicles if possible). That way some poor sap doesn't have to go out and research all of the different items to see which ones are plausible.

Or, alternatively, we can start with buildings and (only) boats, then once implemented, begin to move on to weapons and tools and other items.

Which is also why we should only limit this development to buildings and boats,
though,
some boats require iron too... Which is an issue because heaps of people will build the boat completely without the iron, over and over, and they will never get the iron.
