animals in buildings

Postby SickGerm » Sun May 29, 2005 10:10 pm

I think it would be fun if animals could wander into unlocked buildings lord knows it happens in real life they could then get into storage and such and eat your food . . . I dont actually expect this to be implemented because it would make a huge problem as a rabbit would not wander into a random store but it would wander into an empty facility and people who rely on their building to protect themselves from animals would have to leave and find some iron.

lol, this one could be fun. I picture the elephant in the glass trinket shop for some obvious reasons. I think it would interesting to add if we had more accessible primitive locks, but an elephant could not fit in a cottage realistically, so to individualize animals would become a major hassle.

Side note, animals on boats! Noah's ark! Plus warfare could be a factor, just imagine catching 150 wolves and lions and dropping them off on Noniwrok!
1223-4: You kill a elephant using a longbow.

All well and fun, but, this doesent even happen in real life.

When i oppen the door to my house and leave it open I dont get birds and rabits wandering in. Best I see are insects.

You must live up north.
And I begged her give me horses
To trample down my enemy
So eager was my passion
To devour this waste of life
But she would not think of battle that
Reduces men to animals
So easy to begin
And yet impossible to end

Umm if you live in a town with three buildings and you leave your door open i can gaurantee you'd get a few animals in there and if you live near bears you would definatly get a hungry bear if they smelt you cooking. . . have you ever gone camping?

Yeh your probably right. However where I llive in Northumbria England we aren't really noted for our Bear populations.

Still I can see your point, but just because a door is unlocked doesn't mean it isnt closed.

Um.... since when is a doorknob necessarily made of iron? There have been wooden latches ever since man figured out how to build a house of wood.

Well, if you want to lock it, you make an iron lock... otherwise, yes people can go in and out.

Prisons aren't the same without rats. But it wouldn't be practical to individualize animals. If you did though it would be catagorized into big, medium and small. Big being like elephants and maybe lions (maybe not) medium could be sheep and deer etc. Small could be pigeons, rats etc. Small animals could have a greater likelyhood of wandering into houses, medium animals would have a reduced chance, and large wouldn't ever go inside (Although it would be sweet to have a lion break into your house). This is of course assuming that the movement of animals already has some element of probability to it. Otherwise forget about it.

'coons get into houses all the time. They're rascally. Wasn't there some gated community in Vermont in the news last summer that had a bear repeatedly being removed from the basements of homes?

It would liven things up a lot, though. Could a coon or killer squirrel climb onto a bike with you?
