Dragging furniture!

Postby Appleide » Mon Jan 31, 2005 10:43 am

If it isn't suggested or implemented, here it is:

Make furnitures draggable from room to room to outside and vehicles!

I wanted to suggest this too... I don't think resting furniture is draggable. Though, of course not all should be, unless you have two to three people. Such as stone benches.
The armoir isn't draggable either... I don't know which others aren't.

No furniture is draggable so far, but I hope we will be able to change this during the next few months.

That would be awesome! Being able to move your furniture... It's opens a lot more rp in the way of moving, needing help, and business opportunities.

Can't you make furniture made from parts? Just like you did with engines.

That could make more sense with the new disassembly...

Not really. Moving (non-resting) furniture is no technical problem and it seems easier and more realistic to just push a table through the door. The problem right now is to find consistent rules to determine the weight of items that are supposed to be pushed instead of picked up.

What's the heaviest item that can be picked up as it is?

Well, you can carry 15000g, so an item of 15001g could never be picked up. We could set the weight to 15000g + weight of raw materials, but that would mean that all furniture items would weigh more or less the same and it wouldn't matter whether you drag a chair or a bed. Multiplying the weight of the raw materials would be another method.

In any case the weight of the item would count towards the weight limit of a room and would slow down ships. This has to be considered too.

Perhaps, like real life, Cantrians need assistance to drag heavy objects?

If you lower the weight, and any person can drag furniture, you'll no doubt getting suicidal newspawns screwing with all the furniture..
