Idea for funding Cantr...

Postby Pirog » Sat Aug 21, 2004 6:17 pm

I think it is very noble of the Cantr Gods to keep Cantr free so that we poor people (and/or cheap bastards) can play the game...but I think there should be some kind of bonus for the people giving money to fund the game.

It can be nothing that benifits the actual game play...that would be wrong, but since I guess that many of the people giving money is serious Cantr addicts perhaps they could recieve extra character slots, making it possible for them to have over 15 characters?

At first it sounded like a good idea but.. With the same time limit as everyone else, people having 20 characters would end up posting more and more oneliners and creating masses of soulless charries. You gotta be pretty talented to handle 15 charries so that none gets neglected, but more? :?
I feel bad for not paying for a game this good.. but my montly income at the moment is plain zero, and I have never even seen a credit card.

Yes, I know...and that is good.
But extra slots isn't really a bonus in-game, as long as you don't violate the CR.

SekoETC has a point though...I have 15 characters and I usually run out of time, and then I'm always careful about conserving time, like logging out when nothing new has happened etc.

Maybe paying players can have a character on a 'Secret' continent with neat stuff on it. Atlantis kind of setup. Iron on the ground. Stuff like that.
Reality was never my strong point.

No, that would be jsut stupid =-\, and I know Jos would never do that, he might, I reinterate (I also wish I coudl spell) might do Pirog's idea, but it's unlikely.

That would be devestating...because that would mean that in the end people would be forced to pay or become second rate players...I hate games like that.

The trick is to have a "bonus" that doesn't effect game play.

And there is no real bonus that would be worth having that doesnt affect Cantr!

Well...some extra character slots doesn't in any way effect the actual game play. You don't get a leverage over others just because you have extra characters.

Unless you break the capital rule with them, but honestly. That would be idiotic.

Yeah...and I doubt that people who like Cantr enough to spend money on it when they don't have to want to cheat like that.

Jos should make cards with the words "(insert paying cantr player's name here) is an official cntr addict!" and send them to whoever that pays. Wouldn't that be nice?

Some cantr merchandise was suggested before.

I would buy green stickers with CANTR on them in...white, I would say?

Other much better things could be invented, if you were more clevder than I am.
