Objects page

Postby Solfius » Mon Aug 11, 2003 4:43 pm

I think that the objects page ought to be split into two separate pages.

The first page would still be called objects and would contain larger objects, like tables and chairs, and fixed objects, like ovens.

the second page would be the "ground" and contain notes and resources and small items like tools.

The reason is this: When I look at the objects page I think of it as the ground as notes, tools, and resources all "lie" on the ground.

Whereas it is odd to say that a table is lying on the ground. Instead you say it is "in" the room.

By splitting larger objects into a separate page you look at the ground page and see what is on the ground, and when you look at the objects page you see the furniture etc in a room giving you a mental image and a flavour of the room which I don't get when I look at the current objects page (also it would cut down bandwidth by not displaying as many items as they are split into 2 categories)

I agree with this idea beacuase it's the same with locks. You look at abjects and it makes it look like your door lock is on the ground. It's wierd. :?

or move them to the loaction page. you look at the location page to see the area you are in supposedly so why not have furniture and machines in there. you walk into a room and look around the don't scan the floor

I actually think that would be cool. Put the fixed objects into the Location page, and put the pickupable objects off the ground in the Objects page.

I think the lock should be moved to the locations page too, AND have a lock button OUTSIDE as well (So you can (un)lock your building/room without needing to be in it).
