Carry amount: picking up materials

Postby Gunther_01 » Tue May 11, 2004 11:38 am

I'm confussled.

I think that the maximum carry amount is around 15000g.
Lets suppose that i'm carrying 3000g of stuff.
When I go to pick something up and it says: "The maximum amount that you can pick up is 500000 grams..."
This is odd. Shouldn't it also include how much more you can carry
ie:(using the 3000g above) "The maximum amount that you can carry is 12000 grams. There are 500000 grams on the gorund..." or something like that.
What do you guys think?

Well, the max is 15000 grams. I'm not sure where you are going with the 500,000 grams deal. If it said that you can only hold 500,000 grams then it might be a bug.............

.............Unless it was in a building or vehicle (not a location) that you tried to drop something where there wasn't anymore room for.

I think what Gunther's saying is:

"There are 3000g of wood on the ground. You are already carrying 14000g so the max you can pick up is 1000g."

It's just an issue of the context. It says you can pickup 500,000g because that is the amount of the material available. It doesn't take into account what the character can actually handle. It might seem confusing, but I don't see a huge issue with it.

If you have a simple calculator on your computer it's a trivial issue at best.
