I like they idea (even though I think it would be quite work intensive to implement), but I don't think this is the right thread to discuss it. We almost certainly have a riding/horses/domestication thread somewhere.
PS There is a domestication thread in accepted suggestions and a thread concerning horseback riding from about four years ago. The general idea seems to be accepted for a long time.

(Locked in the accepted suggestions thread)
An ATV might be cool. Slower than a dirt motorcycle, but with more capacity? Gives people a tradeoff for around the same price.

I think I have mentioned it somewhere before, but I'd like to see steam cars.
Although they wouldn't have any immediate advantages at the moment, they could become a valuable addition when fuels are introduced.
They would also close the apparent technological gap between crossbows and normal cars.

Frankly, rifles fill that gap much better.
But I agree that steam should have been brought into game - it was a huge development in humanity. Also, everyone loves role-playing in steampunkish enviroments.
I think that, if steam is introduced into vehicles, it should come as an alternative engine to liquid fuel powered ones. Maybe a one that has a smaller boost in speed, but which can be more efficient when taking more weight and working for continuous time.

Now that vehicle fuel has been implemented, I'd love to see tow trucks in game, or tow attachments for existing pickup trucks.
I don't know if it's even possible, and of course you'd have to figure out how to "approve" being towed, so someone couldn't just drive around stealing cars.....although that ~would~ liven things up even more....

Re: Suggestion for new vehicles
Name: Eco Friendly Segway
Materials: 400G Iron, 200G Steel, 200G Rubber
Person Amount: 1 Person
Runs on: Corn
That's right, a small, personal vehicle that runs on corn. Could be cool just to see eco-friendly-type vehicles, not necessarily a segway.

All vehicles run on corn. You just have to prepare it.

I'm no engineering expert but it would seem to me that a Segway would require some sort of engine as well, not just iron, steel, and rubber. The speed would also have to be relatively slow, and the vehicle would have to be restricted to developed roads. Given all of that, I don't think implementing a vehicle like this is terribly practical.
And as Piscator said, all vehicles can run on corn, it just takes a few steps to turn it into fuel.

new ship type
Carrier
Construction
Time 50 days
Materials 100000 grams of wood
10000 grams of iron
14000 grams of steel
5000 aluminum
Tools hammer or stone hammer
Capacity
Passengers 40 (minimum)
Vehicles 10
Total weight 5000000 grams (minimum)
Cabins and holds
2 large cargo holds
carrier command tower
large ship cabin
2 medium ship cabins
Masts and sails mainmast
gaff mainsail
jib
foremast
2 staysails
topsail
Movement
Travels on seas
Base speed 30(if 2 sail sets allowed)-40(if only 1 sail set allowed)
Weight effect 250000
Docking
Docks to
carrier
coaster harbour (with 'carrier bay' extension)
Docked to by
darter
dinghy
longboat
sloop
skimmer
soarer
raker
galleon
some things that are not usually buildable on ships can be built on carriers.
===================================================
carrier command tower
time: 15 days
materials:
15000 wood
2000 iron
3000 steel
tools: hammer
capacity:
people: 10
weight: 1000000 grams
some items that usually can only be built in land buildings can also be built here
======================================================
carrier bay
time: 15 days
materials:
16000 stone
8000 wood
1000 iron
tools: trowel
capacity:
people: 25
vehicles: 10
weight: 2500000 grams
either as a room only buildable in a harbour and only one per harbour. vehicles can enter from town, and docked carriers, people can enter from town, docked carriers or the harbour,
or it can be just an upgrade to the harbour giving it the vehicle moving abilities and carrier dockability.
===================================================
and don't think that nobody would go through all that trouble to build it cuz yes there are some who will

Re: Suggestion for new vehicles
Minimum 40 passengers? That ship won't sail much.
Also, this would in practice mean a movable city, which I am against.
A transport that can carry X kilograms of vehicles between 2 vehicle ramps (building) would be more to my liking. But no extra über stuff on the transport, just 10 people and quite high weight limit and quite slow.
