"Eat" button for food containers
Hi.
My suggestion is to add additional "Eat" button for food containers like plates, cups, spoons. That button would direct on the page with information how much eatable/drinkable food is inside of the container and possibility to set how much of all food types you want to eat. There would be possibility to set % of all food types to be eaten or certain amount of every one. Uneatable resources would not be listed.
After confirmation of selected amounts character would eat these food and event for everyone in the location would be created i.e.
"You see that John eat some asparagus, potatoes, grilled meat from the ceramic plate."
That possibility would boost RP during feasts. People will really eat food from plates and drink wine from glass, and it will be visible for the other what they are eating. Of course now we can use ** to RP eating, but it's thing which would be better to be handled by game mechanic. Now it's be quite stupid to write "*eats potatoes, onions, smoked fish, and then drinks wine with sugar, lemons, strawberries and mint".
That type of containers would finally be more comfortable in use than now. Now we have to empty container separately and then also eat all food separately, so it's better to avoid real use of such containers to save dozens of clicks

But......then we couldn't say we were drinking the beer out of the mug, pretend to drink the beer, have everyone assume we drank the beer, but save it for later.

It should only work for containers in your inventory.

Re: "Eat" button for food containers
Seems to me that the current goal of the game is now to have things happen with as few clicks as possible.
I for one, probably wouldn't use this button, as I like to have that image in my mind of my chars actually having to do stuff, and this kind of activity (however small it may seem) helps me.
Whilst I appreciate things like the stomach capacity change... already that change has reduced some of my rp, as my chars do less visible eating at the tick, and this would just make me play less.
God knows, if much more happens to make me play less.... it's going to end badly for me.

Fully support idea. With this it would be nicer to fest together. Its quite annoying when you have to take few items from container, eat it, write you eat it, and keep conversation. And over and over again. You know, you dont eat everything at once, just small bites and gulps.

I absolutely love this idea. As it stands now, there's barely even a reason to HAVE plates and mugs. Few people feel actual dishes are necessary. Even if you DO happen to find someone carrying them around, they probably don't actually store food in them. They just have them to keep up appearances. I especially like the ability to basically make our own recipes.
Salad with a boiled egg and some cheese... sure. Sandwich with some roasted meat and onions, right on. Pizza, with cheese? YES.
I can't even begin to tell you how happy that last one makes me.

I like this somewhat.
"You see a man in his thirties eat some potatoes from a wooden plate."
"You see a woman in her fifties eat some strawberries from a silver spoon."
That's all.

Re: "Eat" button for food containers
Can you actually see people eat food? I'm not sure, as none of my chars has ever seen this happen.
I still think that people will just eat from whatever, and in the rare cases where people eat communally, will just rp this anyway.

Re: "Eat" button for food containers
No, currently you can't see people eat food. The event would be so that people didn't have to type it out. If someone wanted to eat without someone seeing, they could just take the food out of the container and eat it the old fashioned way. The people who don't like this suggestion can just refrain from using the feature when it gets implemented, but they shouldn't ruin it for the majority who finds it a welcome addition.
