I just looked it up in the objects database, and indeed it's set to not being build in a vehicle. I clearly remember us talking about that though.

Edit: Maybe it was this I rememberd... viewtopic.php?p=435659#p435659

I know it's not exactly on topic, but what about hearing what people are saying while in a vehicle? Unless the windows are down, or it's a windowless vehicle, you usually can't hear what people are saying to each other if you're outside the vehicle. You can see them though, so it would be like whispering...without failing.

You see a man in his twenties talking to a woman in her twenties in a sportscar.

We have many type of vehicles, not only closed. Motorbikes, bicycle, skateboard.. In future we must create few groups and give some specific features to it.. Skateboard should work totally diffrent that jeep.

Upon looking at this again, it could be an interesting way to add variety to vehicles. Say, you could see inside of jeeps and trucks, but maybe not other types. :)

But then it should be the same in both directions: if you are in the car, you can't hear the people outside the car.

No, you go too far. I like the idea of only seeing people whisper when in vehicles, but not that they can't hear what's going on in town. How would they hear people great them when they arrive? Though how would the towns people hear them reply if they speak out loud when in their car? I don't think either would work, though I have thought of the first one myself, wishing it were the case when wanting a private conversation, but not wanting to be inside.
