Forum Suggestions

Postby Joshuamonkey » Tue Feb 08, 2011 5:13 pm

I was thinking, some people might have some good ideas for new smilies or other forum related things.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for the forum?

It would be convenient if links in posts opened by default in a new window/tab instead of replacing the current page, like in the previous forum.

Oh, and I would like the "Members" link to go straight to search for members without having to click another link. I mentioned this to Armulus a while ago, but I think this along with what Joo suggested aren't changeable in the control panel.

Can I get a giant red button that says "You are editing someone's post, NOT quoting them in a reply. Are you sure you wish to continue, you dummy?"? (Sorry Piscator! No, didn't do it a second time, just referring to the first. :D )

At times that could be annoying though, especially if it applies to your own posts too (Personally what I do is click reply and then use the quote buttons below where I write my post. It's nice because if you highlight part of their post and then hit the quote button it'll put only the highlighted part into your reply and say who it's from.).

Well that works beautifully, I guess I'll have to find other opportunities for websites to mock my intelligence! Thanks!

Ah, nice. I used to manually copy and paste the lines in question and put them in generic quotes.

Ok, so we have a way to list messenger thingys on our profiles...but I don't really use messengers anymore...I do however use Skype to chat so I wouldn't mind chatting with some of you people on there...can we add a Skype address area on our profiles?
When people tell me that great minds think alike, all I can do is look at them and think "oh you dirty, dirty bastard"

I listed my MSN on that thing and a few weeks later, got bombarded with spam. I got so much, I actually had to abandon the account.
