Capitalized/Non-capitalized items

Postby CrashBlizz » Thu Dec 09, 2010 4:18 am

Can we have all the items in the builds menus either start with or without capital letters? Just to improve the appearance of the game interface.

At the moment in the vehciles menu most are with capitals apart from from a couple of the bikes. In the tools menu most are without apart from two or three like the Sextant. I haven't cheked the rest but you get the point

I'm guessing it's not exaclty a big job to just scroll through and change the first letter's of each.

I agree. It has often bothered me when I see the capitalized items in game, and I have changed quite a few. It's a matter of going through them in the translations tool, but as we have no English translators it's not likely to get done, unless someone (like me) is enough bothered by it to actually do it.

You want to change the items to lowercase?

It depends on the language. E.g. in German it's custom to have capitalised nouns, but in English it is not.

"a brand new Waster." doesn't look ok in English, while in German it would make perfect sense.

You're talking of sand with a bedouin :p

My question was regarding the English item tags in the DB. Do you want them lowercase?

Doesn't css allow capitalizing the first letter of a word automatically or does that only work in Internet Explorer?

English ships menu is with all items in lowercase now. If you like it I'll change the rest of the menus.
