X is trying to drag you
Wouldn't it be really sweet to know when someone tries to drag you around?

Only if character strength was once again made known to others. The fairest way to re-implement this would be to have a character's strength given relative to yours. They appear stronger than you, weaker than you, much weaker than you, etc.

Re: X is trying to drag you
The dragging thing is ridiculous to begin with. Almost anyone can drag 80 kgs of dead matter irl. In Cantr it takes a whole team of characters to drag a dead body most of the time, whereas a living character (taht probably would resist) can be dragged by one person... sometimes.
Maybe it's just because it has happened to me lately, but it sucks big time in a society simulator rpg.

Re: X is trying to drag you
Yeah. What about towns that are hit by pirates and leave two (weak) survivors? Are they stuck either burying dead bodies inside (can you do that?) or getting the faints if they stay in the room with them too long.
Plus, it should be harder to drag a living person than a body because usually the person puts up a fight if they're awake (wouldn't you?) and if they're asleep somehow they're even heavier. You ever try to drag someone who's passed out? It's hard.
Dead bodies are much easier to drag because you don't have to worry about hurting them and they literally become lighter after dead. Rot, dessication, the release of nasty gasses...and dead bodies aren't going to complain.
Even more off the original topic...
It'd be really nice to be able to resist dragging. Again, who do you know that would just be like "Oh, you're dragging me? Totally cool, bro, just keep doing what you're doing."
It'd add a funny element to trying to lock people up.
Of course you'd need to know they were dragging you first...
you could have it so you need to fight the drag within an hour or two of the start (it's easier to drag a sleeping person) thus informing you of the drag.
if you try to fight it, the system compares your strength to the other person's and you have x chance of successfully resisting.
IDK, I'm no programmer, just spitballin.

Re: X is trying to drag you
It would make sense if heavy things like corpses could be dragged gradually even if the dragger didn't have enough strenght from instantaneous dragging. There would be a lot of event spam if there was an event for every stage, like X starts dragging Y, Z starts helping X in dragging Y, A starts helping X and Z in dragging Y; A, X and Z drag Y to location, but it would make sense that way.

I was really surprised that it wasn't implemented when I started playing. I learned how to check for it in dangerous situations, (another legacy of playing with Yugo) and was surprised one time to find I was being dragged and only my dragging myself, as instructed, had saved me.
Reveal to me the mysteries
Can you tell me what it means?
Explain these motions and metaphors
Unlock these secrets in me
Describe the vision, the meaning is missing
Won't anybody listen?

Exactly the same experiences here.
Is there a reason why dragging projects are invisible? If I were able to see if people are dragging something/someone (i.e. on the projects or on the character pages), I'd be happy, no messages needed.

Yeah, you'd think you'd notice is someone suddenly grabbed hold of you and tried to shove you under a door.

I'm against this suggestion. If You implement this it would be much more difficult to drag somebody who doesn't want to be dragged. Illegal life is already extremely hard in game.

What if it showed up as a project on the participants' character description but didn't generate an event? That way you could see it if you went to check it out but you would have to suspect something first. It would make more sense than trying to drag yourself to see if you were currently being dragged.

Re: X is trying to drag you
I agree completely with this. There's no way I won't notice someone dragging me irl. Yes Cantr is not rl but still you should know that someone is dragging you and without having to check anywhere else to see. Just an event.
Also that does count for the whole town to see right?
And please don't give me the: Makes it harder for criminals.
About dragging resources. I find it more ridiculous that one of my chars hardly can drag 10kg but can hold 15kg.

Re: X is trying to drag you
But dragging people has been explained so that they're not actively trying to drag but they're lurking nearby and getting ready to jump at the person once they get enough combined strength.

What if there is a chance the dragging won't succeed even though there is enough to drag that person but lets say a person is able to struggle free?

That's what I was saying.
I like the idea of dragging projects seen as "lurking around". What I don't like is that it is instant once the required strength is available. Not generating an event but being able to see the attempt on projects/characters page + a delay for the successful dragging would make a good balance, I think.
