Last Words/Death scene

Postby griogal » Sun Mar 21, 2004 9:42 pm

Instead of getting killed instantly, a char only dies when his player has logged in and checked the "killed" char. As soon as he checks out of the char it really dies. In the mean time this would allow for famous last words...

I wonder what Maynard would have said in that case....
"America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. "

Disagree. Thats why you write a will or something. I mean I don't wanna wait for a note theif to die on the trail -boring.

Last words would be neat. Signing on and killing your killer wouldnt be.

Someone meantioned it before at one time, and I didn't really like it then either. Getting killed with unfinished business or without saying somthing really important is part of things.

Most things can be handled by leaving a note in the character's inventory.

Yes, I believe I mentioned this before...it would be kinda neat, maybe a certain chance u don't die right away, or a last words limit, or maybe even one last hit on your enemy.....but it would kind of disrupt the game....so stick with notes and stuff....or say your last words at 5%....

Yeah...although I would like the idea of last words there could be days before someone logs in to speak with their dying character. It could have really silly effects on the game.

Well, if I murdered someone left, and then the dead man spoke to warn others, it'd break the balance of the game for the criminal. What I'd like to see is a town slaughtered and afterward having 20 last death words come from each person.

"Crap"

You see a man in his twenties die.

"Hahaha! I lived longer than you!"

You see a woman in her twenties die.

"Goddamit. Someone go get those pricks!"

You see a man in his thirties die.

" I will sir, be right back!"

You see a man in his twenties die.

"that was our last chance wasn't it."

You see a woman in her twenties die.

"Yeap sure was. Well I'm fuc...'

You see a man in his twenties die.

Example given.

Of course it always takes more than one hit to die. Mogul-Lord managed to spit out some last words, but noone heard them. Havent told noone OOC either. He got a few notes out, however. How many actually made it to the right hands, I dont know..

Exactly...last words are for when you have a couple of percent left of strength and you have a hunch that you're not going to make it...I mean, how many actually lies in their own pool of blood and whisper something dramatic like in the movies anyway?

The funny thing is that you do have last words. They're probably something like: "Anyone have a trowel?" It's not fantastic but it's there. LOL. Once you die you're dead. Suck it up.

Since this is the oldest topic on this subject, it should be where the discussion happens. But since some of the other topics on this matter are rather lengthly, instead of quoting their posts here I shall just post the links for reference.

Sounds like a good idea but I think there should be a limit on how many words can be spoken to limit the dying process. And maybe a percentage that the blow will be instantly fatal instead of a mortal wound.
