Clothing as Pop-ups
*Edited*
To reduce some of the clutter on the character description page, I have a suggestion to compress the clothing descriptions to their name. Then when you hover over the one piece it's description Pops up. Kind of like the input-able character description popup on the events page.
If not maybe turn names into links that expand the descriptions when clicked on...
*I was just exploring my French characters game interface... I gotta say I like the manufacturing page...

After all the trouble we've gone through writing and editing them? No way. But there seem to be two schools of thought, one that the descriptions should be vague and people are allowed to use their imagination with the details, and the other one that the clothes look exactly like the description says and if people are not satisfied with the options, new ones will be implemented until there's enough diversity to satisfy everyone. Lately the second option has been stronger.

I think I noticed someone had changed silk stockings to be described as actual stockings instead of a pantyhose, and they're also in the proper category. That's cool. I edited the cotton tunic and some other cotton clothing, and other tunics should also be updates. The old descriptions never mention the name of the item and in the past they didn't even mention the name of the material, but it's much shorter to say "knit wool leggings" rather than something like "two cylindrical pieces made of wispy material cover the wearer's legs and are joined at the top to cover the backside and crotch" - seriously, they used to be like that. Using commonly known words instead of beating around the bush will make them more condensed. I also think that displaying the items from head to toe and from overgarments to undergarments would make people pay sufficient attention to the parts of the outfit that normally catch the eye and not read about the shoes before the jackets. Changing the category ids would mess up a lot of things, but if a new column for order of appearance was added, the clothing could be sorted based on that.

Should undergarments really be described if they are covered by another article or is there no way to hide the undergaments?

No, you couldn't (at least not without considerable programming effort). The inability to wear more than one ring is not a display problem, but a logical one. Every clothes item has a certain category. The game is set up to only allow one worn item of the same type at the same time. Currently you would have to define special rings for the left and the right hand to wear more than one ring.
On the original idea, I don't think it would be a good idea to split the description page. It's hard enough as it is to get a impression of what a char's wearing.

Pretty in pink.

While the title implies a pop-up window what seems to be suggested is a hover over much like typing in descriptions and hovering to see them in the events page.
My thing is that I think condensing might make people less inclined to read what characters are wearing.... but might make them more aware of character situations. A lot of times people go on forever with damage or tiredness and no one notices until someone new learns their name.
I'd rather descriptions of clothing etc be more readable from the events page, somehow. Or make cycling through character descriptions be less annoying as going back to the people page to click a new person.
[Insert "View Next Person At Your Location" here suggestion.]
