Theres a bit of a difference between choosing to raid a town (RPing) and just not bothering to play a character and call them a 'sleeper' (not RPing and kinda not even playing the game).

The point is with this it'll offer a choice. If towns want to defend thesleves from outside attacks they can. If they choose to only give one person the power to do so and that person it killed then it's their own fault. That does not mean this is a bad suggestion, only that the town was lead by someone who doesn't know anything about basic principles of defence.

And, agian, I'll say that gates are supposed to stop people coming in and out. Just like harbours are useless once pirates are in town, gates pretty much are too. Gates are supposed to stop bad people coming in, not stop bad things happening in town.

If you can't understand that then you haven't understood the suggestion properly.

Lol, what? So let's implement exoskeletons. If the person who owns one dies, and the key goes to the ground and a newspawn kills the town, it's the players fault for not making more than one key or actually having an exoskeleton.

The whole argument I have, is that you are FACILITATING disaster by this suggestion. You are giving people the keys to destruction. It's not a matter of whether the town choses to only have one person with the key, or 5 people with the key. You are still causing disbalance.


I'm all for walls and gates - but not now, not this way, and not until a grid system is implemented so that a wall can be defined around a certain area and people can chose to be within or outside of the wall.

Implementing it now will not be aesthetic and it will be ugly and awkward.. (like someone said, it's just a barrier on the road - that's all.. pretty bland, tasteless and ugly).

I think thats a bad idea that'll just end up with everyone with their own litttle individual walls to live in. We have this now, they're called buildings. Doing this will solve nothing.

I did search for this so sorry if it already exists/ has been discussed.
I thought of it when suggesting my other idea I just suggested.
Every city should be able to build walls. The walls will enclose all buildings and resources in the city.
Obviously these walls will also have a gate that can be opened or closed.
It is different than a building in the fact that you can still talk to everyone in the city, you just cant give them things or hurt them,
vice versa.
If the gate is left open people will come and go freely.
If the gate is close they must either wait for someone inside to open or
Here are the type of walls I suggest:
ONLY 1 PERSON CAN WORK ON PROJECT
PICKET FENCE CLIMB OVER FENCE -- 1 HOUR
SMALL STONE WALL CLIMB OVER -- 12 HOURS ---with ladder four hours hours
MEDIUM STONE WALL CLIMB OVER -- 24 HOURS ----with ladder eight hours

2 PEOPLE CAN WORK ON PROJECT
LARGE STONE WALL DIG UNDER 72 HOURS with shovel 24 HOURS
IRON FORTRESS 10 days drilling through -- 4 with any drill
STEEL FORTESS 30 days drilling through -- 10 with any drill
The gate can also be locked so even if you are on the inside you must climb or dig out

While climbing,digging, or drilling you are vulnerable to attack and cannot attack yourself. You can completely quit the project at any time but will lose all progress.

CONSTRUCTION TIMES AND COST
picket fence 5000 grams of wood 15 days
small stone wall 15000 grams of stone 25 days
medium stone 30000 grams of stone 40 days
large stone 50000 grams of stone 60 days
iron fortress 40000 grams of iron 100 days
steel fortress 35000 grams of steel 120 days

GAMEPLAY ADVANTAGES
PEOPLE CANT JUST COME IN A BEAT SOMEONE AND LEAVE IF GATE IS LOCKED
USE AS A CHECKPOINT TO CHECK FOR CITIZENSHIP, PAPERS ECT(SEE MY OTHER SUGGESTION).. before letting in
IF INDIVIDUAL HAS KEY, THEY CAN COME IN AND LEAVE FREELY
POST LAWS ON GATE SO INDIVIDUAL KNOWS THEM BEFORE THEY EVEN COME IN CONTACT WITH ANYONE
PROTECT ITEMS ON GROUND FROM NEWCOMERS
