Poison!
Maybe there could be a way to make poison? Like 100g mushrooms, and some other plants with a mortar and pestle. And you could later add the poison to a weapon, like 300g of poison would last one hit only. And it could do more damage? So all those herbalists out there can heal much AND harm much! *shrugs*

Heh...
Maybe it could be applied to the blade of a sword or saber, or to an arrow or dart, so it would just last one use. It would be pretty cool if they could assassinate important goverment officials with a hit from a poisoned weapon.

It would be awesome if you could add it to food, but the food wouldn't look any different, so you could like hand someone some bread and they eat it and keel over.
Maybe also make poisons that don't kill, they just make the person paralyzed for a while, or lose 50 strength, or something.

I don't think the poison should kill the victim right away but over time begin to affect them. Perhaps certain poisons would have different effects. Plus, perhaps a cure should exist for the poison (or at least some) so that people can possibly save the person.
The poison could probably be delivered in numerous ways. You could put it in the food or drink. Stick it on weapon. Pin prick, we do have needles. A quick little jab of the needle. Perhaps eventually we can get to airborne poisons and maybe someday that would lead to chemical warfare.

I like that idea. Otherwise poison is way too powerful, no matter how hard it is to get your hands on. One hit kills I think should be avoided, since in cantr you can't really defend against an attack you're not expecting (except for the automatic effects of your shield).

sickness is a good idea. Then we can have doctors to treat the sicknesses. And I've kind of been letting this idea bounce around in my head, maybe it's already been talked about: individual talents.
One person could have the gift of healing, one person could be a great artist, another a skilled laborer. That way you'd be more likely to seek out a specialist instead of just doing everything yourself. Like a doctor, for example. The way it is now, you can't really be a doctor. The demand is zero, anyone can collect healing foods.
I have no idea how that would be implemented or anything, it's just something I've been pondering. Maybe the current skill system that's being discussed and (theoretically) implemented, where a repeated action makes you more efficient in that action. Only there would have to be a new action, like "heal" someone, maybe first aid, specific ailments instead of just losing strength.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Don't mind me
