And then the number of predator animals is based on the number of prey animals.
For example, we divide animals into 6 groups. Small Prey, Medium Prey, Large Prey, Small Predator, Medium Predator, and Large Predator. You could have maybe 5 Small prey, 2 Medium Prey, and 1 Large Prey of per slot. Small Predators only “eat” Small Prey, at the rate of 2 Small Prey for every Small Predator. Medium Predators eat both Medium Prey and Small Prey, but they prefer Medium prey. So the maximum number of Medium Predators is equal to Medium Prey plus half the Small Prey, divided by 3, rounding up. Large Predators eat all Prey, but they prefer Large. So the maximum number of Large Predators is equal to Large Prey, plus half the Medium Prey, plus a quarter of the Small Prey, divided by 3, rounding up.
Lets use Rabbits (Small Prey), Cows (Medium Prey), Elephants (Large Prey), Hawks (Small Predator), Wolves (Medium Predator), and Lions (Large Predator), then put them in a location with 10 resource slots. That gives us 50 rabbits, 20 cows, and 10 elephants. Which lets there be 25 hawks, 15 Wolves, and 11 lions.

Interesting.. Does it balance though? I mean eventually the predator will kill EVERY prey. Then there will be no food so the predator dies out.
So there's nothing left.
Kind of like a philosophical way of looking at how humans are turning out.

Animal numbers are already controlled by the type of animals in a location - too over crowded and they migrate . This is variable and based on animal types . Locations can already fit many more lemmings than elephants.
It currently is not controlled by resource slots but if it was in should be in inverse proportion to number of resources slots - the more resource slots the less wild areas where the animals live.

Is there a problem with animals, isn't it?

ps. There must BE a way to control their borning.

Ok, seriously, this is in a place with -10- resource slots? If there is 15 then you will be swimming in lions! This could be good if it balances and you work in cantrians killing off animals because here it seems like the numbers would be set
EDIT: I've thought of a good way to go about this that could use those numbers fine. Perhaps that is the max number of the animals there can be in a location, and each preys populations grows by
(the previous number of prey +(Previous number of prey x (1/Number of corresponding predator (large large, med med etc.)))
So if you think about it, the more predators there are, the slower they grow, and the less predators there are, the quicker they grow. Also, if a population is wiped out, it is completely gone. Each predator would grow by
its corresponding prey's number before growing divided by.... say.... 10
?
So in this example if no elephants were killed the lion population would grow by one each year to a max of 11. This would form a primitive sort of ecosystem, particularly as we also have animal migrations. Also, bear in mind that there could be more than one sort of any group, say rabbits -and- racoons, and therefore their numbers are grouped together to find the small prey parameter.
This would be so easy to code even -I- could probably solve it, and I haven't done any coding for three years
