Remelting Metal Objects

Postby grayjaket » Thu Dec 11, 2003 4:38 am

Ahh, the forums, it's been a while. And everyone has changed their names and pics. Well, anyway, as I was gonna say, MELTING! We should be able to melt down stuff to it's basic components(well, not wooden stuff, but I think you know what I mean). That way, we can get rid of our tools we don't want to make sabres...or I guess the other way around *sigh* That's about all I have to say....i think.....

Edited for thread title. -rklenseth

I agree though you should take a look at the thread about destroying tools etc., buildings, and ending projects. I believe that once two metals are mixed, you can't get the original compotents out. So you would be able to melt down steel and get the limestone or the iron back. It would just be melted steel though I think you were mainly referring to taking apart tools and reusing the resources from those tools and that I do agree with as well as degradation of said objects depending on a number of factors.

hmmm....that's some good stuff. But yeah, this idea was just a specific example i guess. And I didn't mean seperating the metals, it would still be steel, just now you can use it for something else. Also, special ovens would have to be made i suppose.

This would be very good to stop the amount of sabres going around.

After large battles peaceful farmers could pillage the battle grounds and make valuable tools out of the weapons :)

Yes, like melting down sabres and swords to steel, or iron trowels to iron, etc.

Some good stuff. :D

Swords into plowshares, and so forth.
