I was thinking there should be a way to get mushrooms faster, so I looked it up and it seems like in RL they're gathered with rakes. (Or sometimes they're not, because it's bad for the soil in the long run, but there's a infinite supply of every resource in Cantr so I don't think that applies.
I was thinking it could be something like 500g of wood an 100g of steel...it would be nice if there was a way to make one with just wood, but since all the mushrooms I've seen are in forests anyway I guess that would be too easy.

Wood and steel should be good.
I really really really hate that mushrooms can only be gathered at 200g per day.
I mean, apples can be sped up, so why cant mushrooms?

I'd imagine a rake to break them.
But kinda on the same sector, how about a berry picker? Can be used for all berries growing in twigs, such as blueberries and... cranberries, red worthleberries, which we don't have yet as far as I know, but they would be good for the tundras. The tool itself is like a scoop with a rake/comb -like bottom. I'm trying to find a picture.
Ah, there's an older one... Mostly made of wood. You could use about 50 grams of iron for the spikes. Though a full iron one would be more slim.

I'd imagine a rake to break them. Confused
They come up out of the ground so easy, I could picture someone just sort of gently raking across the grass and pulling them up without doing too much damage. And for Cantr would little details like that really matter? Besides, like I said it's done in real life so it must be possible.
sanchez wrote:Mushrooms grow in forests anyhow, don't they? Oughtn't be necessary to go outside the area to speed up production of a resource in places with so few.
Well...like I said an all wood one would be nice, but wood is already used for so many things (IMHO it's just as important as iron, if not more, and anybody can gather it with their bare hands) and it seems like a town should have to do a little travelling and trading to increase production.
Maybe a 'primitive rake' would let you gather something like 250 grams a day though, with the regular one letting you gather 400 grams?

wood is a very important resource, also very abundant. approx 1 third of the earth's surface is forest. (source: http://www.iucn.org/themes/spg/Files/op ... ml#forests )
