Idea
Hey Im sorry this might of been suggested, Ive only read the first page and a bit and this brainwave came to me...
Fatigue is gonna be implemented eventually yeah?
So beds will be implemented eventually too...
So what about if a Blake and a lass "rest" in the bed together, there is a ranodm I dunoo 20% chance that the female will become pregnant?
Then approx 270 days later the women gives birth, and during that 270 days the women needs more food and fatigues more quickly (when fatigue is implemented) and can carry less. Travel slower etc etc.

But really, would it be so horrible if it was obvious that people had sex?
Why not just have it as a project, with a random chance of being succesful?
In these times I didn't think it would be a big deal...and especially not in a game where noone lifts and eyebrow over people killing someone who stole a tomato.

I think poloroid speed would be better for the game at least at first.
If there is a player wanting to play then the child would show up after the meal. If not they have to try again the next day.
A stork report could be added to the daily report. It would show the number of mothers who didn't get a child the previous day and the number of players waiting to play a child.

Yeah esentially I agree, however think about the 14 yr olds that are perfectly capable of playing, and contribute well, but get banned from the computer by their parents cos the see the project "having Sex" I dont think it would be fair on them or the balance of the game cos they'd all just die, and possibly while having sex which would just confuse things!

well, as mentioned beofre a half measure could be useful until we find a way around that kind of situation happening.
I think it was David Goodwin who suggested "people-centric" spawning, where it is more likely for people to spawn where there is a greater density of people. That would be a good step in the right firection

....
Another suggestion based on stuff said earlier in the convo, I beleive that a way should be found for the majority of characters, in not all characetrs to start out life as being born, to add realism. I beleive, as a recentish newbie myself, that there would be less suicidal newbies, as the parents would talk to and help the child! Also if the child does become suicidal, call it a mental illness, it happens.
