Taming and domestication is currently being discussed by ProgD and RD. If you all can contribute intelligent meaningful discussion here, ideas will be appreciated.

My idea of how domestication of producing animals could work.
You special "hunt" animals so they become tied up animals that should be like dead bodies that can be picked up or dragged. The tied up animals should not be to heavy, so it would be possible for one man to move (carry) them along a road. To catch hunt animals you should maybe need like 20 gram of rope as a tool mayby made to a lasso. I think most of animals like horses, cows, sheep, elephants, mountingoats.
Maybe rabbits and other smaller animals could work another ways.
When you have a tied up animal you should be able to domesticate it, transforming it to a domesticated animal (machines). The process should take about 2 days. You would need two animals of each kind to make the "animal machine". They could only be transformed to domesticated animals in places that the animal normally live or inside barn buildings or pastures. The barn buildings would need a lot of forage to be built but that should be all about feeding the animals inside a barn.
Example of barn buildings
- Stone barn 25000 stone 10000 grass
- Wood barn 15000 wood 10000 grass
Pastures would not need forage to be buildt maybe like this.
Pasture examples
- Enclosed stonewall pasture 10000 stone
- Enclosed fenced pasture 5000 wood
- Enclosed barbed wire pasture 500 iron 500 wood
I think pastures should work like buildings too or maybe more like vehicles, so it would be possible to see, give objekts to, and talk to people outside. You could also build buildings inside them. This could also be a way of privatisace a bit of the land in a place, like every pasture would steal a gathering slot from the central place and that would only be usable inside the pasture.
Then you had to use the animal machine. This should be like hunting. You could do other things during the time and you could only use the animals once a day. But also only one person each day, so if char 1 has milked the cows char 2 can't. And you could have more than one "animal machine" offcourse. Outcome should be varible like hunting but in the same level. Excluding bones, fur and other hunting things.
Once a year or maybe different for different kind of animals the "animalmachine" should also produce new animals of its kind. These should be wild at first and possible to hunt or catch and tie up and so on. But they sould not move outside if they where born in a pasture or a barn.
Some tied up animals could also be made in to vehicles.

Could we name them?
You see a woman in her twenties entering Pok from Lambchop the sheep.

If you ever get bored of lambchop just turn it into lambchop

*shudder* I dont want to picture a sheep giving birth to a fully grown woman!
That would really screw up the spiritual beliefs of one of my characters
I'd love to see barns and domesticated sheep! I suggested it before but obviously me being without a four figure post count i dont actually count as a person...

anyway if your going to ride anything its got to be a lion, imagine that
You see deadboy coming from Pok to Pok Desert on a bloodthirsty lion
You could also tell it to eat people
EDIT: Ive just had a great idea! You could train Toucons and hawks to fly you about! It could be like an animal helicopter!

As mentioned above the main problem is that ATM animals are just there. From time to time...totally randomly...without any reason it might seem...they attack you....but that's pretty much it really...some travel...but also...for random reasons.
Would be awesome though to have more interaction with animals. New ideas like...wildlife parks, for example, could come up. It's an Idea I've been having but somehow...animals jsut don't have a big enough meaning for the population of Cantr to actually have some sort of "greenpeace activists" develope.
