What about using keys, you make keys, they are very hard t0 copy, the keys cant open anything. Use your key to claim your 10g of steel in bank, then use the key to buy stuff, the key then worths 10g steel. Number may be wrong, change to 100g or 1kg of steel if need be. I think i say a half-finished abndoned bank in krif, do you think it would work?

with html notes I think you could make a note almost impossible to copy and I think notes are a lot more reasonable. Keys cost 10g of iron each to make so you'd lose money making them

I know! If a note is complex enough html then it would be very hard to copy!

Very close. And it would establish that system much better. Some people like to be able to hold there funds.
Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.

I was also thinking you could have different kinds of notes

Steel Notes
Iron Notes
Wood Notes
Stone Notes

That way people who didnt have steel could also purchase notes.

People without steel could also buy Steel notes it would just cost them just as much as steel would cost them else where since its very hard to come by

(reply to the note that can't be copied thread)I am telling you, Rycelandeer, the key idea will work! Deposit 20 g of steel or some other material, we give you 1 key, bring it back, we give you back the steel. the key then worth JUST AS MUCH as steel, but it weighs LESS. That way, people would start trading using the keys, and only that particular version of the key could trade back the steel. But the draw back is, the further you are away from the bank the less it is worth, thats why you build BRANCHES.

Counterfeiting could be done, but it would be illegal, and a death sentence (probably) and you'd have to know where to get steel.

A coin press will work yes, BUT the cost of the coins has to stay low otherwise its pointless.

The coin maker pays 10g of iron to make the coin.
The coin no longer holds value except to trade for 10iron
In which case you might as well keep the 10 iron
Coin maker loses money each time a coin comes in because not only did he have to make the coin costing him 10iron he now has to pay someone 10 iron when the bring the coin in.

USELESS Im telling you

Yes I know it loses money, but isn't our point to INTRODUCE money into Cantr? We are NOT trying to EARN money. AFTER there is money, START a MORTGAGE BUSINESS to EARN MONEY. Got my POINT YET?

One wouldn't lose the iron twice, you'd get it right back when someone buys the coin for the ten iron. It'd be up to the governments or coinmakers though to ensure that a sufficient stockpile of whatever resource backs up the coins is on hand in case of a surge of withdrawals.

What if there were another machine that could recycle the coins, and turn it into iron again?

With a coin press, coins should very cheap to make after the press itself is made. The press however should be very expensive. Were talkin about making a system now using keys Lonewolf...it would cost too much and take WAY too much time to make them. And use them as currency
