I completely agree with Marian on this one...........if no one was ever able to spawn another twenty year old, it would change the game drastically, and people would lose interest, those like you Mikey who likes to go though charries quickly, and seem impatient even now when they spawn as adults. New people would not know the game we know. They would be in a group of their own, with no real characters to play.
No one should have to rp something they don't want to. Why would they? They play Cantr to have fun, not be forced to use their valuable time doing something they don't wish to. So we lose them, maybe slowly for those with current adults, but we'll lose many good players.
And frankly, I want the child of my charrie to be played by someone who is willing to put the effort into it, and make it work. Not someone who is apt to quit the game tommorrow or next week, or who doesn't know the game mechanics, or someone who doesn't have a shift key.

I can imagine it now...
Man in his teens: "Dad give me the keys to the sports car!"
You see a man in his fifties slap a man in his twenties.
Man in his Fifities: "Not till you do your homework."
You see a man in his twenties expertly kill a man in his fifties with a steel sabre.
Man in his teens: "Take that Dad!"
You see a Man in his teens pick up the keys to the whole town..

That's why it was suggested that the child be played by one of the parents (and generally agreed upon in the Sociologist's thread, BTW)

As the saying goes you can pick your freinds but you cant pick your family, the same should be true in Cantr.
Basicly a bad roleplayer or someon "who can't use the shift key" would be like a disabled child. And would you cast your child out if he or she was disabled? Maybe you would, or maybe...your characters would.

IF IF IF... children are introduced into Cantr.. it should NEVER be played by the parent... it undermines CRB...and if it is ok...and they say..ok you can RP both until the child reaches 20... then what...going to send the child away...to never help the parent again?

That's because I largely agree with you but the postings of others indicate that they think the children situation makes them exempt from the CR...
The problem as I see it is:
If having a baby takes effort or a project from two established characters they will only do this if there is if benefit for them. This either has to be as a source of work for them for a period (child labour) or giving them another character in the same location. You cannoy expect feelings for children to materialise from instincts that just don't exist un cantr.
If it is not a choice from characters and replaces spawning I can't see the point of change for change's sake. And lets face it this would take so much work.
