Maby I'm a bit muddled im my saying of it.. but what i meant is that you could attak once per hour.. and maby with some things... LIKE fists.. you could attak more than once... but maby you should just be able to attak once... or maby 5 times...
I really want MORE VIOLANCE in cantr... Cantr has been on the defencive swing for a very.. very long time(i think 20 cantarian years.) and i want a swing back to the attaking withought making small places with alot of animals die easaly. I know that the age of seafaring is now.. but what fun is seafaring if there is no piracy?

I play a pirate. Considering our crew is down to less than ten from more than twenty, we've had our fair share of struggles. All it takes is a few guys with crowbars and some good timing and anyone can take on pirates.

The problem is, depending on how the "hour" is calculated, that could mean a dead character in 6.1 to 9 hours, by one other character if they had a decent weapon, and successful hits on person each hour. Some of us have jobs, school or even sleep, so the 1 hit day a rule is a nice way to keep blood baths from being too swift. I realize it is frustrating, but if you want to kill something now, play something else between daily attacks like counter strike or diablo or whatever.

Nine hours seems fair though. I have 2 jobs and sleep. I just feel that it wouldn't be un-realistic for me to come on and see that my character was killed in a 3 hour (game-time) period. It would help to add some conflicts into the game (more of the conflict for a reason, not just the newspawns senselessness). Tiredness would still be in effect so you couldn't go on a killing rampage without more than one person. I think it would solve a lot of problems, people have with the combat system.
Someone more in the know could give the math on it though. I just would not be disappointed to have a character murdered. Senseless violence of course is the reason you should have the hourly thing gives people a chance to get on see that they(or a fellow town member) are being attacked Allowing enough time to counter this and giving those who want to be able to fight wars in a reasonable amount of time the ability to do so.
As it is, I have noticed a lot of peacfulness. This is boring and mundane without the occasional band of marauders. They sweep in to town attack some people steal some stuff and head out in a 3-5 man group killing only 1 or 2 before heading back out.
I do not think you could reasonably kill everyone in town with the changes I am proposing. Change it from attacking anyone to one attack per hour as well. As being able to hit everyone only requires a 7-10 man group as it is to kill off a town. Granted it would be difficult to gather together enough people to do so. But, three to five under my proposed change could realistically walk into town start to take things get into a fight lose some men kill some people, then be off with what they can steal. I think this would be more in the style of the game than the one hit a day thing.
Just my 2 cents anyway.

Mmm... I don't like this idea at all. I have a few characters who are working hard to establish success. I sometimes cannot check the game to see how my characters are doing.
In a real life situation if someone attacks you, you can choose to attack back or run. If someone is allowed to sit there and hit on you at a time when you can't check on your characters, well, that's no good.
If such empowerment were given to characters, as to allow them to beat and batter and slash people several times, and if the character being attacked can't check the screen for a day or two, then this would totally suck.
I would think that if it were implimented to be able to sit there and slash on people constantly, that there would also have to be a defense mechanism. If a player knows she won't be able to check on things for a couple days, then she should be able to go to an option where she can select the option to automatically return attack, or automatically run from attack. If run is selected, then the attacker cannot hit that person again.

Like I said it would be up to other town members to defend you if you are not "awake." I mean it would take 9 hours someone would see it and respond. Most towns I have been in say no violence at all. Someone would respond. As a guard in a town I try to check every few hours when not sleeping and during downtime at work, just to keep the peace as it were. Not much happens but, this once a day thing is really annoying in that assasinations are impossible, it takes away from the intrigue for a new player.
I have read stories of conquest and political strife, sometimes brought to violence. I just don't see this as doable in a reasonable way with the current system. As a new player this was intriguing to me. The fact that characters were not permanent and that wars would happen, and a band of attackers taking out a town. This was all intriguing to say the least. It is a little disheartening to read those stories then get into the game to find out that it just isn't so anymore.
I feel that the system I suggested is better than the one in place cause it gets rid of the hit everyone in town once to saying one attack per 1 hour(3 hour RT). I think this would allow for response time, as well as the quickness that a real attack would take place. Sure it is a little short of a response time, it is also a little long for surprise attacks. I just think that if your town has a few well armed people they could fend off this style of attack better than they could 3-5 people entering town and hitting everyone once with crossbows and sabres. As it is now you could be killed much easier, not to mention your whole town, than it would be under my suggestion, but the fighting would be a real part of the game then.
