Yeah these notes could lead to a whole branch of new protection. The note chainmail and the note crossbow.

I think there should only be a extra option. The option "only editable by creator". That way, no one can edit your notes. Only you can.

A possibility to burn the notes, should never be implanted. There should never be a possibilty to destroy notes.
1. We should keep history!
2. Note thiefs and other people, might burn all the notes that are in a city...

Must keep history

Postby g1asswa1ker » Sun Oct 05, 2003 10:03 am

But hasn't history been destroyed before some people might want to cover things up. Book burning isn't new and should be in the game. IE someone gave me a not I read it and burn the note. Now no one nows what was on that note!
Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

maybe you need a campfire, torch, or fireplace, to burn notes...that way, not just anybody can burn em...also maybe it could take a little to burn, like maybe it just burns on line at a time, so if you get it fast enough you still have most of the note.....also, it'd be cool if you could eat notes! Like you read the plans, than eat em...it could cause digestional problems though...

You can still hide the note. I think the nature of Cantr is such that we need to have undestroyable notes else it would be too easy to destroy history, as it is many places don't know much about their history

history

Postby g1asswa1ker » Sun Oct 05, 2003 1:09 pm

History is lost all the time, and lies are put in there place all the time. So the samething should be applied here. I like the note burning idea. Anyway look at where your at how much do you know about where your at and how far can you go back and is everything you know true?

but it's harder to cover up all the evidence and rewrite history in Cantr than in RL, so the record should remain, in the form of undestroyable notes, even if that record is kept hidden

Exactly it is easy to make up history in Cantr, which is why it should be hard, if not impossible, to destroy legitimate history.

That's another matter, but at least the real still exists for you to look at and enjoy and try to figure out, which wouldn't happen if notes were destroyable, as I expect most people would destroy old notes they don't want any more, destroying all the history they have

Yes and that should be there choice. Just because you personal want to save history does not mean everyone has too. Trust me on this I'm learn the hard way that Cantr is not very fair that way so why should it be any easier for the historians
