Well, we can introduce a Spit, remove the shovel from the fire pit (Ohh, rhymes!) or do nothing at all and leave it how it is.

And even then. Meh gave me an idea. Barbeque, and Hamburgers :D

Back in the days the built wooden shovels.

The only reason for iron shovels is that they are more durable.
So until deterioration is implemented perhaps the more primitive tools (and here I would of course like to see a wooden shovel) could work as good as the iron ones, but some projects (preferably the more advanced ones) would only work with the iron tools?

Like, a bone needle would do the trick for more crude materials, but for silk cloth and other finer clothing such a blunt needle would not be sufficient.

Just an idea...

Or if in general projects could work something like resource gathering. Speed improves with better tools.

A screwdriver can be used as a chisel IRL.

Yes, that would also work.

at present i don't think it's possible to set multiple outcomes or a single project so we'd have to go through and copy every project like that and change times for the more primitive tool's. and you can bet someone will say we made the times too long :P

so screw them. they should be thankful they can use lower quality tools at all.

anyway, i think varying tool quality is very important...
...almost as important as *drum roll* ITEM DETERIORATION (i haven't yelled about that enough lately)

Shields seem to do that.

What?

kroner, don't go back and change your post in response to another post. Post a correction. I now have no idea what Spider was saying.

I think spider was saying that shields seem to deteriorate already - but they probably dont; its more likely more people finding better weapons.

Well, it seems like when my iron shield goes up against a sabre, after a while, it gets a bit weaker, like instead of blocking 35, it only blocks 33

You should be able to dig a fire pit with a stick. It would be a crude fire pit, and maybe you can't cook as much on it, but it would be a nice temporary solution for people far away from iron.

Hmmm. What's wrong with having to have reached a certain level of "development" before settling in places without food? I like it this way.

coming back to topic,
why is it possible to use the oven, and make for example some tea or pizza with the amount of grams made remaining zero.
in this way you use the oven, but cant use any recources on it.
And if you press the first button for making bread, it is automatically added to the activities list, although you can go back (by your browser for example).

I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying.

Do you mean:

When you use the Oven, you can set the end result for a project as 0 grams, which then means the project will require 0 grams of anything, so nothing can be added (Obviously)?

And if you press the button to see what resources you'll need to make the project, it'll automatically add a project to the activities page, even if you never go through with the project?

If I interpreted those both right, then can't your just cancel the projects after you create them...?
