Here is something. Because of the added weight of cannons. I think in order for a ship to have a cannon, it would have to have sails and mast. Rowing wouldn't be so practical unless we have slave galleys to row our ships lol.

This will make it a bit harder to make such a fighting ship. But worth it none the less

Just simply have people on the boat when is docked to the port :wink:

And Mack I like that idea too, but to have it require just a mainmast would be good.
