And people are supposed to be able to touch the controls, if you don't want them to do that, you either intimidate them or lock them in a cabin or a hold. It would be possible to add a bridge that was like a cabin and was buildable on all boat types, but first of all small boats don't have a bridge and secondly if it was a building, you couldn't see outside. It would be better to come up with a subtype of a location that's like a vehicle but located in the buildings category and it's unable to travel. Then there could be stuff like guard towers and pavilions. But my knowledge of how Cantr works is rather limited, there are hundreds of files and I haven't read all of them. The locations file was especially confusing.
It sounds like the code is a mess. Don't they comment and things?

All the suggester is asking for here is a way to keep boats stationary and keep them open at the same time.

The simplest thing would be to have an object, called an anchor, which could be raised or lowered, and then secured with a key (if that's possible). It would work like a door, in that it could be unlocked so anyone could use it, or locked so only the key bearer could use it. When someone tries to move the ship, a check is made to see if the anchor is raised. If not, no go.

The only thing more complicated about a floating city is that the leader would need two sets of keys, one for the doors, and the other for the anchors.

Ryaga: The code is a mess. It's commented in some places but not as much as I'd hope. Code has been written by several people and people probably won't go fixing other people's code if it works, even if it could be written clearer or more compact. Then it might lead into things being so complicated that it would take a lot of effort to find out how exactly it works.
