I think what Peanut is after is a buckler. There is already one buckler in the game, I think he wants different ones of different materials.

Since this post just went by ignored...will there be iron level sabres and the sort? Just like there are bronze and steel?

You know, there was an iron age too!

I'd like to see katanas in game. little more steel than Sabre, little more damage.

I have a character that would want nothing else than a katana. Please pretty please Serenity. Will you make his dream come true. *gets on his knees begging* OH PLEASE help me. You made Agar's rapier. You can make my katana.

Cool! 8)

Why not have both a katana and a rapier?

I want my RAPIER!

Please note that I only suggested a silver basket hilt on a rapier. The rapier idea was SC. And he's on your side for a katana.

I would recomend that the katana take an appropriate amount of steel and iron, since the very principal of a katana is the folding of two different metals, and unless we want a steel/aluminium katana, iron will have to do.

The softer, springyer metal lends durability to the blade, while the stiffer hard metal holds the lethal edge.
Reality was never my strong point.

Yes, it was my idea.

And I love my rapier... :D

Anyway... I do think a katana would be cool. I would suggest some more new weapons, but I think what I'll do instead is go and plan out a slight change to the combat system. *nods* I have a few proposals.

I suggest steel and chromium to make katanas. Then K-island could put Kwor Forest to some real use! And become the world's manufacturer of katanas!

Does Chromium have a use? If not, hell, go for it. It's as good an idea as any other. Steel and chromium.

Exactly! Chromium has been put there and then seemingly become a forgotten resource. If it had just one use. Just one!

Katanas!

While we're on the subject of useless metals, does magnesium have a purpose?

Dictionary says it makes an intense white light when burned and is used in photography, signaling, and pyrotechnics. I was really trying to think of a way it could be used in a weapon to keep this on topic...any ideas?

It's also highly poisonous

(Random Geek fact: The 'Mad hatter' in Alice in Wonderland was named as such, as those who worked in factories where hats were made, were exposed to the magnesium fumes which were part of the manufacturing process, and it screwed with thier heads)

So - you could make darts with magnesium filled tips?
Whoever you vote for.

(Correct Random geek fact - mercurious nitrate traditionally used in curing felt was part of the Hat making process - it was the Mercury which is supposed to have turned hatters mad not Magnesium - But magnesium may have the same effect , though not used in hat making to my knowledge)

Some more information here: http://www.infoplease.com/ce6/sci/A0859425.html

I guess Cantrians aren't going to be making bombs anytime soon, but what really caught my attention was:

An important use is in preventing the corrosion of iron and steel...

Of course I think there's something about electricity in there, but we don't need to get that realistic.
