town gates

Postby colonel » Sat Jun 04, 2005 3:05 am

I am not sure if this has ever been covered but would it be possible to have gates for a town so then the town could control who came and left. It would be like for ships I am guessing but I am not sure how well it would work. I just think that something like this would help with newspawn grab and runs...

There would be things to like and dis like about that, yes, it could stop the spawns from grab and run, but it could be manipulated, (and I won't say what I am thinking, just in case it ever becomes a Cantr reality.) and used to assit large groups of power hungry people in taking over large cities..

So I walk a year and a half through the pok deserts to find a gate 99% of the way to BFe? Sounds like an OOC solution to an IC problem. I'd like this to be done once we get free roaming....make a project for 5mx5m of fencing (wood)(bone) or (stone), each of varying quality against attacks. Then towns could build to include food sources, water, ports, etc. But not until free ranging.
