Fruit picker/basket on a pole

I don't know if anyone else has ever picked fruit from an orchard, but most have a device (I don't know the name) that's a wire basket on a long pole. The wire basket has one side where the wires extend up and curve over. You position it so the fruit is in the curved over part, gently pull and the fruit is caught in the wire basket. I think if we had something like this, it should dramatically increase the speed of picking fruit off trees.
