More pointy!

Postby Crosshair » Tue May 03, 2005 9:13 pm

As we are now able to point at buildings, paths and people, why not notes too? it would make it easier in pointing out such things as laws or information...

e.g

"you point at Note- Laws 1130-"

A thought?

Agreed. I've seen about 5 instances in the last while in which the characters have said something like "*gestures towards so-and-so* Read that and find out" when it would be easier to point at the note and say "read that...."

I would love that...

Now I usually say something like: "You should read the note titled 'blablabla'. It should be lying on the floor somewhere...."

That's exactly the point. It would take less time to point at the note, and then type "read that" than to have to type out the name of the note. And clicking on the name of the note when it's pointed at to open the note to read it would save a lot of time, as well. Any thoughts on that part of it?

Or why not at machinery, tools, piles of resources...

Not everything. There should be a limit to what characters should be able to point at. I'd agree with machinery and such, but piles of resources? That's almost pushing it.

"you see a man in his twenties point at 1475 grams of stone"

what if he only wanted to point at 700 grams of it? it's almost unrealistic.

You see a man in his twenties point at some stone.

Hey, it would help a lot in the alternate language islands..

Yeah, it would just be like when someone picking up stone, you see them pick up 'some' stone... no one's going to know how much your pointing at, and I doubt you would know either.

Also i think there should be a cap on both knocking/pointing

To stop those acursed newspawns ( )

From spamming.

10 times a cantr day would be enough right?

Perhaps make it more obvious what the little star on the doors do. instead of a little star, how about a fist or something...

I don't like restraints against criminals... even the one hit a day rule.
The town's local guards should enforce the laws. Not the game mechanics.
