Coracle and Travois

Coracle: Simple boat made from grass or hide used by primitive fishermen.
100g Hide
20g reeds (?)
150g largebones
Knife

Travois: Simple sledge used for transporting goods.
250g hide
100g wood
Knife
Needle

These are both simple technologies that could increase the trading from the less well resourced areas, a vechile that dosen't need metal and a boat the doesn't require wood would mean smaller comunites could trade with the larger ones similar to tribal societies in America after it was settled.

Both of those are too cheap, but if you sclaed the prices up by a factor of 2-4 I would say its a good idea.

Also, the Travois should be slower than a person walking.

I can see that the resource cost should be scaled up. 3x should be enough. The Travois should be equal to a person dragging another person along a road, to make a fair estimate. The coracle would be slightly faster than a raft but only by about 5% (racing them as a kid along with other home-made craft).

Yeah, I posted these separatly because I consider a travois a tool, like a wheelbarrow, and only added the coracle to save time. (sorry if this made the post appear to be in a wrong area.)

Well, wrong topic or not, I don't care :P

I agree that it needs to use more resources than that, though. But I'll considder the additions.
