we should have a method by which you can heal someone else
lets say you have a companion who falls ill to the "sleeping sickness" and they get smacked around by some boars or wolves and are bleeding all over the place but are too ill to feed themselves.
we should be able to do something to heal them, something that of course takes time, tending to their wounds for a small increase, 1% per hour per person healing them, so if X amount of people are helping heal them, they gain back X time 1% of thier health per hour.
question is wether this hour is a cantr hour or an earth hour (like resting)
other thing is to decide is this like "meditating" or will we be using some kind of resource or "bandage" that we are using to wash their injuries to heal?
i know a umber of different healing ideas have been presented in the past but this one i believe is new and unique, co-operation and bonding by helping someone heal. a non productive endevour just for the well being of your friend.

What about applying a poultice? The poultice would be made of cloth and mashed healing food, so you'd have one poultice per basic healing food type (grape, onion, etc.). Applying the poultice would be a project, take time, and only heal half of the damage that the raw material used would have healed (or less, even - make it expensive).

fine by me, sounds like it would be even more worthwhile , cloth an crushed healing food
this would give a real point to being a doctor by profession in game.

Would've liked this a little while ago…but I do like the idea.
Maybe it'll give a use to the herbal mixtures I've read so much about on the wiki!

It should be possible to select any resources with a healing value defined and make a custom project using the selected resource. It would just require a bit of programming.

Ability to heal others - bandages?
It would be nice if we could heal others, particularly those that aren't awake. I'm not thinking so much about during attacks as I am people either that fell asleep outside for a few days or longer but are coming back, and either had animals, newspawn thieves, or something else hurt them. We can limit it if we think it might be possible to abuse in battles by one person being able to keep a whole town alive, much like we plan to limit the rate of healing food consumption in the future anyway.
This could either be done by existing healing foods, or more plausibly, by the introduction of new items such as bandages, splints, salves, etc. There have been many times I've had to worry about when a character one of mine cared about was going to wake up and treat their wounds, and no reason that other people wouldn't be able to bandage and patch up someone who was sleeping or unconscious.
It would also add a lot more realism to the people that try to play as doctors or open healing centers, etc. I find the roleplay that people do with that very awkward, which is why I don't have any of the type myself. You can rp treating someone's wounds but it doesn't take effect until they chomp on some onions themselves?
Edit: Merged topics once I found the other already existed. Umm, and BUMP in that case.
