I was trying to think of a way where we could add an alternative way of getting water. Like seaside towns having easily obtainable salt water, but which can't be used for cooking until it is purified. Similarly you could add a fresh water resource to lake-side areas. Both of these could have higher rates of gathering.

I'm not so sure the gathering rate of water is other areas is overly unrealistic since it takes a lot of pumping and pulling to gather even a single bucket of water in those areas.

Would it take a day though? I don't know how long it takes to get water from a well, especially in very dry areas, but I would expect a day's effort to be a lot. (Although, making a stone hammer takes two days, and we don't account for sleep, so what can I say :wink: )
