My thought is that since there are a number of fruits and plants with natural pigments in the game already, perhaps a tool could be made that extracts them from these resources, to make dye for clothing, to make a character's appearance a bit more unique.
I've noticed that all of the clothing items either lack colour in their description or have very generic colours. If a player could take an article of clothing and dye it, perhaps in a tub-like tool, it would increase their ability to personalize their appearance and even increase the value in certain nearly-useless plants.

Don't make it too hard.
Idea is good, but I don't know if it will be easy to implement.
Maybe first part - making dye will be simple.
But how to give or change a colour to the cloth?
Perhaps you can color the cloth first with some tool or machine

Just a guess here, but it might be easier to program and manage if you take the final product and dye it. Dyed materials could become a nightmare to work with (ie: if you didn't have enough "green" cloth, could you mix it with "blue" cloth....would the differently colored materials have to be in separate stacks, etc)
I really like the idea and was actually thinking about it yesterday. I thought it had been rejected before, though.
