it should be possible to make your character eat when ever you tell him to do this. this could work like this:
you can use the [EAT] button and make him eat any amount, smaller than the usually eaten amount of certain food per day. and strictly, not over that amount in total. and you could make him eat as many times, as you want. then evening update comes, and your char eats automatically the food from his inventory, that is still necesarry to have the full amount needed, or zero, if you alreaddy ate everything that is needed during the day.
how would this help? this would help for role playing. for example you want carrots for breakfast, and meat for dinner. then you can eat any time you want. you could have a cafe in town. this also helps, if you have few kinds of food in your inventory, but you want only one to be eaten, and the automated eating chooses not the one you want. also those, who dont want this option, can still use the automatic eating, by not forcing to eat during the day.
i hope you understand what i wrote
Forced eating

I've already role-played it as it is now. Dinner's at 2pm my time, so I invited characters over and gave them food right before food processing, and everyone ate. I had a 5 course meal, meticulously calculated to exactly equal the daily food requirements, and I asked everyone to come without their own food. It was fun.
