Subdividing the tools menu

Postby Crosshair » Sat Dec 30, 2006 1:34 pm

It'd make things a lot easier to find.

Navigation
Weapon Manufacture
construction tools
gathering tools
farming tools
etc...

Already been suggested.

-and was rejected because it's already in alphabetical order.

Actually, that isn't what Crosshair is suggesting.

I have been thinking about reorganizing it already. Not sure when ProgD would be able to get around to working it, though.

Then please contact Marol as he's working on significant changes to the build menu interface :) - In terms of userfriendlyness as opposed to re-categorising.

For as far as I know, Grzegorz is working on a complete redesign of the building menu, and for what I've seen, it's gonna be a huge improvement. He's sick at the moment, though, and a busy man, so be patient ;) ...

I find the problem to be in deciding which category to look in at the moment, eg tools or machines.
This will make things worse. Being a non-mouse user it's easy enough to type a few letters of the item into a search box.

One of the new features will be a fully working internationalised search system which should be suitable for non-mouse users
