It just seems to me that it's a lot easier to get ahold of 600g of steel and a few tools then to screw around with making rope. People do need more reasons to make rope though, (the only uses I can think of off the top of my head are huge projects a whole town would work at, so I'm glad to see a smaller one to)
But maybe it should be the well that produces 200g a day, and the pump only 100?
