Oh yeah that's a good point, we can still talk privatly in notes, well ok then I don't mind it if this is implemented, but it seems quite a worthless waste of time as it will just mean people no longer use the whisper button, it will just make them use the write note button instead

An idea: Let's call it "spying" and in addition to eavesdropping, you would see a rough estimate of how much things they pick up, drop and hand to others and I also think the ones who are not spying on a person should not see the repair state of picked up / dropped / passed items. If you were spying on someone then you would receive a message on your events screen if your target is spying on someone else.

Though having an extra line in the character description would be an easier option, and not that unrealistic: In small towns the suspiicous authorities could easily check what everyone's doing daily, but in big towns it would take lots of clicks to take a look at everyone - just like in real life, it would be harder to notice being spied on than in locations with just a few people. The info line should say "He/She is hanging suspiciously close to X".

Imagine this, in a large town, even if people knew to suspect you, you might hire a newspawn to do your dirty work (somewhere off the open, naturally) and even though people might keep an eye on you, they wouldn't have time to check on each of the kids. It's known from fantasy novels that a common trick for surveilance is to hire street boys to work as your eyes and ears.
