Let's post riddles and enigmas and anything of that kind in this thread.
I'll start with one that some of you may have heard before... it involves maths but it's fun, trust me and try it.
A mother is 21 years older than her child. In 6 years, the child will be 5 times younger than the mother.
Question: where is the father?
(Please don't post the solution here if you know it. PM me)

Let's see if anyone knows this treasure...

Birds, beasts trees and flowers,
kills kings, ruins towns
and beats high mountains down

I think the answer to Nalaris' is Time.
I have sent the answer to Junesun's to Junesun.

What do you mean [b] and [i]'s? Bold and italics? Not sure what that means.

Does it involve a stepmom?

He's in bed with the mom.
If M is the age of the mother in Years and,
if C is the age of the child in Years then,
M = 21+C
In 6 years, C+6=(M+6)/5
So, 5C+30 = M+6 therefore,
5C+30 = 21+C+6
So, 4C = -3
Therefore, C = -3/4 (of a year, which is -9 months which is conception)
M = 20 1/4.....to confirm, in 6 Years they will be as follows:
C = 5 1/4 and
M = 26 1/4
26 1/4 is exactly 5 times older than 5 1/4.
Simple algebra problem.

But the question was, "Where is the Father?"
I believe the answer would be in bed with the mother.
Oops! You wrote that. Sorry.

Aww man, I got that on my second attempt but I didn't realize -3/4 was nine months. I was thinking because it's negative, it must be wrong again.

Not enough information to the first question...

WIND!!! no.. you don't eat wind...
THE SUN!!!! if you think about it.... cinda.. like.. if you eat a plant, and ten you eat that thing that ate the plant, your eating what the plant ate, wich would be the sun...
but does the sun make mountains crumble.... yea... it makes the snow crumble... so that would make the rocks crumble to.. and stuff..
but does it distroy casteles... well... If a castle gets trampled by an avalanch...
But... can you eat time? so, that means that time isn't the answer...

More common form of Nalaris's riddle:
This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.
Stan got it right.
