On Altavista's Babelfish, you can browse sites in different languages and have them on the spot translated to English, while browsing. They don't have Polish, though. Does anyone know a similar service for Polish? So that I can browse a bit of the Polish forums through a translator?

I have used
www.poltran.com in the past
But I've been warned by the Polish players that it's not very good ...
(...though its a lot better than my ownPolish

)
see
http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=121404&highlight=polish#121404 for one of my attempts and the post 2 down for the back translation
EDIT : N.b. this isn't a browsing translation site - just a place to translate to and from Polish

I don't know such site, and I wonder if Altavista would add Polish tranlations to Babelfish in near future.

Has the Polish area's players exceeded the amount of English players?

Just thought I'd let you all know, I don't know about the other versions of Babelfish, but the Spanish version isn't too good. Kids in my spanish class have had some speeches go very bad when using that...

Well, almost nitefyre. I have noticed record number of Polish players. We had almost 800 Polish players in sept. 2005, now we have 813. English player we have 923 at now, but much more English chars, than Polish right now. P: 2620 E: 4125. In sept. 2005 we had only 1266 Polish chars, so now we have some big progress in that matter.

It looks like Google might have something that works, but I haven't really investigated it. Somewhere under Google Labs.

Well my translator came out with "Nic jest straszny więcej" for "Nothing is fearful anymore"
And then in the opposite direction it hit me with "Small potatoes is not terrible plus"

Here is one that I have found, though I don't know how good it is.
http://www.poltran.com/pl.php4
It translated "Juz nic nie jest straszne" into "It is awful nothing Juz"
However, going the other way, it becomes "Ni jest sztraszny", which translates back as "It is fearful Ni" A little closer. *shrugs*

Yes, its much better
But... it properly (without any errors) translated only one sentence.. and i checked about 10...
"Tanie wino jest dobre, bo jest dobre i tanie." which means ->
"Cheap wine is good, because it's good and cheap."
poltran translation :
"Cheap wine (blame) is good, because it is good and cheap. "
perfect:D 100%
and you know... it almost translated this sentence back:
"Tani *wine* jest dobry, dlatego że to jest dobre i tani" - grammatically its horrible.. but still understandable:)
unfortunately many sentences are translated really crappy...
and some simple words are unknown for this transtalor... You can try to use it...but it may be really hard

But... its still, in my opinion, the best one here:) I was even suprised few times when this translator almost translated some sent.

:):)
