Serenity Firefly update (you knew this was coming)

Postby rklenseth » Tue Jan 24, 2006 8:13 pm

All right, all you Browncoats out there that here is an update of the franchise that you love.

Just announced today; Titan Books will be releasing a Firefly Official Companion in the summer.

Old news but new to many of you; Ace Underhill (owner of a film company) is trying to buy the rights to Firefly and create a season 2. You can find his website here at www.fireflyseason2.com
Joss Whedon will be starting a Serenity comic book series with Dark Horse Comics after the very successful Serenity Comic Mini Series last summer.
Margaret Weis' Serenity Roleplaying game will have a new expansion written by Tracy Hickman releasing this February.
Pocket Books will be releasing the first independent Serenity book (meaning not based off Firefly episodes or Serenity movie) to be written by the same author that wrote the Serenity movie novilization. Another book is schedule for release as well but no author has been named to that project yet (fingers crossed for Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman).
The same company that released the Serenity Trading Cards will soon be releasing a Firefly Trading Card set as well.
The fan documentary "Done the Impossible" (the story of the Browncoats) will be released soon. You can preorder it at www.donetheimpossible.com

Here is a hoping for a another sequel and a new series.

My little brother got the DVDs and the movie to give me for my birthday. But he watched them first and now he decided to keep them

I watched that movie new years eve and loved it. That made me curious about the show, but I only got to watch two episode. I really liked them though, a nice anti-utopia feel that I've never seen pulled off so well in sci-fi. :( I wish I could watch more of the show but my collage outlawed TV’s in the dorms, so I'll have to wait until summer.

You can't watch it on your computer?

I came across Firefly on TV the other day, and almost watched it because I remembered it from here. But I resisted. TV is a waste of time, and I don't need more of it in my life.

My computer doesn't like DVD's. I probably should have complained to HP the first time it wouldn't play one, but its too late for that now. :?

I have patience, it's not like I'll be getting behind in the series or anything.

Considering the nature of the show and movie (being about freedom and all) the more the reason to break the rules and be free.
