Four to 12 million (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_language) is hardly insignificant. I wouldn't be surprised if we had another, though perhaps not on the forums.

6 billion people live in the world.
12 million of them speak catalan.
Your saying that's not insignificant?
Just join the spanish lot you lost the war remember.

That's a bit like going to Glasgow and calling them English men in skirts or asking which bit of England is Wales. Don't walk down any dark alleys in Barcelona (a beautiful and significant city with a strong Catalan heritage and linguistic imprint) if you're going to express views like that!
Anyway, there are probably more Catalan speakers than there are people fluent in Latin or Esperanto!

I'm not trying to convince the world to speak Catalan, I'm just trying to see if there are more Catalan speakers on Cantr.
Actually, it wouldn't be that weird as there are Cantr languages with less speakers than Catalan.
Yeah, we lost the war because English and Portuguese left...
By the way, not all Catalans live in Spain.

No actually, calling a catelonian spanish is more like calling a scotsman british.
Anyway, there are probably more Catalan speakers than there are people fluent in Latin or Esperanto!

And now you've proved your a ponce by saying Catalan is spoken by more people than an archaic language spoken 2000 years ago and another language made overnight in someones notepad. Of course it is you muppet. That's like me saying more people speak welsh than there are kangaroos in iceland.
And I never said only people in catalonia speak catalan. The whole andora does. However if your saying to me that everyone in catalonia can speak catalan your talking shyte.

He gave Latin and Esperanto as examples because both are language options for cantr that already exist, or at least have an option on the main page.
Since we are making kangaroos' snowshoes we should probably not deny the Welsh their dictionaries.

Yeh well I aint ever heard the, good, argument why they should be there anyway, so the reason he chose them cos they're in the game bears no significance whatsoever. Point still stands, bad fucking example.

they are there because there are enough players and people willing to work as translators for it to be worthwhile - is that not a 'good' argument?
If there are enough players willing to play and someone willing to translate, there will be Cantr in Catalan too, regardless of how much it is or isn't spoken within / outside Spain and the rest of the world.
Stop being antagonising for no reason Cooks

Ehmm.. not a waste of time if that's what they want to spend their time doing. It's still a good argument, regardless.
Honestly, there was no need for your first post anyway. Nothing wrong with them asking if there are other Catalonian speakers.
