I just learned... althou i don't know if you know this, becous what i know might be late, and you guys know alot.

there was a discovery, that if you change one gene in your body, and changing one gene ACTUALLY gives you a 20% longer life span.

It seemes that tis gene turnes on your immun system (or somthing like that) and having this gene alterd will ceep your imune system on and give you a longer life.

Some people IN THIS FORUM might... JUST MIGHT.. need this.

There are lots of things that can increase life, scientists have tripled the life spans of earth worms. Research was being done recently that could nearly double human life, with no physical side effects like removing of the genitalia, which the other methods required, however, the government shut down the program. I really hate the stupid son of a bitch government. Talk about oppression, its the same as shooting me 40 years before my time.

how is that a pill?

You can't change your genes with a pill pie...

No, but work was being done to keep the telomeres from degrading. (Did I spell telomeres right?)

I believe that you can improve your health, but not increase your life span.

Why not? All you have to do it either slow down the aging process or improve the re-building process, all done with genes. We live a lot longer now that we used to and some familes are genetically advantaged to live longer also.

My family ages about 10 years behind most other peoples so we live quite long, this gene has carried through 7 traceable generations (traced down the female lines funnily enough, though that might be because we traced it UP that way).

I saw a documentary on this on TV, and my dads girlfriend is a micro biologist, from these two sources I draw most of my information. If you guys don't believe me I will go get sources.

Telomeres are extra genetic material on you DNA, which forms when you are born. Every time a cell replicates, a small amount of the genetic information is deleted, that is why people do not age until a certain age. Some of this aging is caused by the fact that the telomeres have been eaten away, and important genetic information is being lost. Researchers have gotten close enough to be able to guarantee that they could stop these telomeres from being deleted every time a cell divides. The government shut down this program, taking a huge discovery away from humanity.

Using earth worms as test subjects, scientists were able to triple their life spans my manipulating their organs. The most important of these was the sexual organs. When removed from birth using a certain method, the worm's lived three times as long as an unaltered worm.

Ahhh well my point was something about relegion.. But I'm too tired to type about it now, let alone convince you

but free will will allow you to do this... unles you don't have free will in your relegion....

anyway... this defenitly increased the life of the worm... but they only have.. well.. a potatoe has 16 chromasomes, but ime not quite shure about worms.

I think she is refering to the idea that God decides when someone's time is up.

And this doesn't have anything to do with free will, if indeed such a thing even exists.

If god decides when someone's time is up, stop hooking up vegetables to respirators, god will decide when their time is up. I couldn't resist, time to start another long winded political discussion.

If god would say that your time was up... wouldn't that be denying you your free will?

i mean... i have free will. Heck... I COULD RUN OUTSIDE IN MY UNDERWERE... if i wanted to. BUT I DON'T WANT TO!! i could get in trouble.

but seriously.. IF YOU DON'T HAVE FREE WILL, YOUR ADICTED TO SOMTHING.
