Maybe there should be a referral system.. a person joining the game would have to tell if he was referred to the game by an existing member, and then a list should be made about referral counts... just to stimulate a sense of competition among the players to get more and more players into the game... is it the wrong forum for this post?
How to convince people Cantr isn't for geeks?

How to convince people Cantr isn't for geeks?
I need publicity ideas... It's hard to convince people that an online text-based game can be fun... once they get in the game, though, then there's no way out..

Well, the way I look at it is, if they don't want to even take the time to check it out, (The webpage) they are not worth the gift you are trying to give them. I have seen many people get hooked on Cantr and I have also seen some people leave.
I am not to sure about getting something like this started though cause well umm, the polish players and other language groups are kicking my butt at getting new players.
hee hee. I just tell people about the game and if they check it out, they are going to play. And if they don't, they don't.

All my friends are geeks
Colonel's right. It's not for everyone, and everyone can't play it. It's a really unique type of game that's hard to get into at first... and then impossible to leave.
I play DnD with a few friends of mine, so I thought they'd like the oppurtunity to do some more RP in an open-ended world... and they didn't.
Then, I asked my metalhead, hyper, HALO addicted little brother, and he friggin' loves it. Go figure. So I just show it to everyone when I'm playing at my house and then ask them if it's their thing, and most of the time it isn't.
I have crappy friends

Let the world hear these words once more:
Save us, oh Lord, from the wrath of the Norsemen!

But why should the houses pay for them being silly?
I think just talking about it and saying how much fun it is for you is key right there. I mean, I tell people about it all the time and with just the way I do talk about it, it gets them curious to check it out. And like I said before, some like it and some don't. But, the ones that do like it, will thank you for ever. Cause Cantr II is the greatest game to play. AND it is free! I mean, that word alone got most of my friends and family to check it out. ha ha ha

It's about people with imagination.
(where a boy gets sucked into the book he's reading and ends up being part of the book)
Well its on a par with that, but without the monsters obviously, your'll
not start life as a child, but your in a living book.
With live characters, just waiting for the right imagination to meet theirs.
I'm certainly no geek..but i do enjoy cantrr.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent and Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you have decided to look beyond the imperfections.
