I'd like to see what science fiction everyone here likes the best. Choose one of the options but if you pick "other" state which one.

Dr. Who is coll, if a bit dated. If they did a modern remake of it it would be so cool

The only one I found cool was the Darleks.

The Dr. Who flim was cool, something like Dr. Who, The Movie. It was on Sci-Fi earlier today, whatever it was called it was good

As if I could have voted any other way.
SG-1 is good only because it uses the same theme of sort. A way to travel to many different worlds which opens up many possibilities for storylines just in Star Trek. The advatage to the Dr. Who setting is they were not limited to one part of the universe nor one base of operations other than the highly nomadic Tardis.

SG-1 get my vote for best still in producton.

I really like "Firefly" before it got canceled last year. I really thought that show had it going. A great story and great characters. It was called the anti-Star Trek and it was like cowboys out in space. The main plot of the story was a group of smugglers who are currently smuggling a doctor's little sister in which the government was experimenting on. The little sister is has special powers and the doctor is the best doctor in the known universe. Then there are smugglers, the captain who was a veteran of the Civil War they had a few decades ago (he was on the losing side; sorta spins off on the American Civil War and Old West), a the First-mate who is also the Captains best friend, veteran of the same Civil War, and wife to the pilot of the ship, the Pilot who is the husband to the First Mate, the Malcolm (the only name I could ever remember) who really likes his guns!, the engineer who is very eccentric, and the prostitute (prostitution is legal and regulated in this future) who gives the smugglers a cover (I think she was in love with the Captain though I don't think the Captain knew). The show itself had great acting and the actors fit the character very well. The show got great rating among critics but I guess not enough people picked up on it and watched. The show was canceled over rating. I really hope that either Sci-Fi or UPN will pick the show up in which right now they may according to rumors over the internet (but you can never trust them).

I voted for X-Files. Its a classic and I love it.

Anyways, Star Trek: Enterprise is pretty good. Has anyone watch that yet? I think its great that they are now doing a series on teh first Enterprise starship. Before there was Captain Kirk there was Captain Archer. I think the third season started off great Florida being taken out by an alien race that in anothe galaxy that believes humans will destroy there planet in 500 years. And now the humans are going to war against a people they don't know where they are and what they look like (it turns out the planet they are looking for contains 6 different intelligent humanoid species). I really recommend that you pick up on this series. Its the next best Star Trek since Voyager. It is only in its third season. Its on every Wed. at 8:00 on UPN and they show reruns on Sat. at 6:00 on UPN.

By voting for Star Wars I really mean Star Wars and the Expanded Universe pre-1999.

Before they screwed it up with Episode 1 and later with Episode 2? :D You know they might have lost a lot of the original fans but they have gained a whole lot of new, younger fans. A lot of young kids love the new movies while hating the original movies.

that's because they're Hollywood tools.

With all due respect.

I wish Red Dwarf would have contuned as well. They actually had some good plot behind the comedy.

Lexx also notable.

The new/old enterprise whatever it's called is good too. Notice they had to dip into the temoral plot lines right off the bat.

THe best of all time is Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I like the whole idea of the temperol cold war. Even though it happened in another future of the Star Trek universe, I like how it is affecting the past of the Star Trek universe. So, David, what do you predict will happen? Obviously they are going to save Earth but how? Will they wipe out the Cyndi (I think that is how it's spelled) race like the Cyndi predicted or not. It would be kind of ironic that they predicted that the humans would wipe them out and so they attack them only to make the humans go after them. It's sort of like the ananolgy of Dune that should you believe in a prophecy then the prophecy will come true. So they believed it and acted upon thus making the prophecy come true.

Anyways, did anyone see the Children of Dune miniseries on Sci-Fi? I thought that turned out pretty good for a made for TV movie and all. Taken was also great but what do you expect from anything that has Steven Spielburg's name on it. Though 20 hours is a long time. Usually a lot of the Sci-Fi TV movies are really crappy but they do a great job on their big productions.
