Why do Some People Make Fun of Others?
Ha? Why?
Is it because they want to feel cooler, or more superior? Or what exactly? Is it a psychopatic thing?
I mean, I'm sure most of us have been picked on in school or outside school... At least once!
And I admit, I used to be picked on in high school.... But thankfully only for a little time, because I was a new kid and all... But that didn't last long... Thank God for that... It sure does feel awful!
Do you want to share stories? Or opinions? Or whatever?

I used to get picked on when I was younger. Mainly because I wasn't exactly thing then. But that stoped when I started getting violent. When a 200lb 13 year old is mad with you, you tend to stop picking on them directly. But I've lost 20lbs and grown half a foot since then.

I used to get picked on a lot, and I still do, but everyone gets picked on really. It was mainly my friends who were picking on me, but I finally told them, and apparently they didn't know it hurt me, and as they found it funny, they kept doing it. There are probably several reasons why people make fun of others, but I think Dee you hit most of them.
And it really doesn't help to be skinny and weak... *grumbles*

Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

What you should do is find someone that picks on you and use them to set an expample. People always say "Dont lower yourself to their level" And things like that...well you arent lowering yourself, you are being dragged down to it. I dont believe in RL violence...but there are times to show that you wont take it.

If you have a lot of big friends... the bullies tend to go find someone smaller and less defended. At least, that pretty much worked fo me. Bullies tend to have several 'friends' that enable them to feel strong enough to bully others. But they still tend to target the more 'loner' types, or small groups.
I'm just trying to rationalise my own experience.

And it doesn't have to be rugby players, or even large people. It is amazing how well a group of 30 or 50 nerds can defend themselves. Although having a few friends who are willing to get into fistfights on your behalf doesn't hurt (I fell into the group of swimmers somehow). Bullying is mostly a problem in elemtry and middle school (it mostly goes away by highschool, although is not entirely gone), and I had the good fortune of being quite tall. I don't understand it, but even the bullies seemed to by intimidated by me (no matter how weak I was at the time) just because I was 15-30 cm taller then them. Oh, and on the topic of rugby, our mens rugby team in highschool was lame, but the womens team was vicious. It was quite common to see one of the girl rugby players sporting a broken limb or torn out ear.
