Oh, and Sci-Fi is owned by NBC which is owned by Universal.

So this makes sense for Universal to promote the movie coming out this fall.

Can you remind me by bumping this topic when the date nears? I wouldn't mind checking it out on TV, to put this bloody channel that I don't use to good usage.

Mmm, I wonder does anyone know if the US Sci-Fi channel is related to the UK Sci-Fi channel, I only ask because as far as I know it's the only channel in the UK which has aired the series, several times too, and all 15 eps. in the right order to boot.

You're all that excited over a 15 episode saga? These are more then a half an hour each, I hope.
At least us Star Wars fanatics have three two hour long movies (give or take some minutes).

Haha, Yo Yo. You are going to be the biggest Firefly fanatic ever. It's so right up your ally (you know the one with the ho?).
As soon as the pilot episode ends you'll probably start starving one of your chars so you can have one named Jayne.

Shouldn't a Star Wars fanatic know there are
six movies, an animated series, and a Christmas special introducing the character of Boba Fett?
*vader breathing sounds* I am my father!
... And that Vader never said "Luke, I am your father"

Firefly is a total of 15 hours, 13 episodes equaling one hour each and the pilot episode equaling 2 hours (it'll probably be broken into two different parts when aired on Sci-Fi).
Serenity will probably be 2 hours give or take so that makes it....
Between 17 to 18 hours of Firefly/Serenity and if Serenity does well then there will be sequels and possibily more episodes.

The original plan was for 8 episodes in the Star Wars saga.
But I hear this one might be the last?

It was originally 9. But the only thing that Lucas has said is that "he" won't do anymore Star Wars movies. You have to remember, 20th Century FOX owns the movie rights to Star Wars. The only thing that Lucas owns is the marketing rights. Steven Spielberg and Kevin Smith have shown interest in continuing Star Wars. Kevin Smith (Dogma and Clerks fame) is rumored to already have signed onto to direct and write a television series based in the Star Wars universe. Plus, do you think that FOX will just let the money cow of Star Wars slip away because Lucas doesn't want to be involved anymore? Trust me when I say there is more Star Wars to come and that includes movies.
Anyways, Episodes 7, 8, and 9 have more to do with Leia becoming the most powerful Jedi, Luke turning to the dark side but not quite, and the rebuilding of the Republic after the defeat of the Galactic Empire.
