Where do attractive people come from?

Postby Revanael » Sun Apr 03, 2005 9:37 pm

A very random, possibly highly pointless topic - but then we love those things in Non-Cantr, don't we?

Anyway. A post I made elsewhere reminded me of something I've wondered about sometimes. Sometimes it seems that people from certain parts of the world are more attractive than others - probably almost purely subjective.

So. Where do you people think the most attractive people come from? Vote for continents above, and post in more detail below as to why you think that.
(Open whichever sex you prefer; it's general.)

As for me, I've met some amazingly attractive english people - but I've never met (as in met enough to speak to, get to know - met physically) anyone (female) from Holland who wasn't very attractive.
(Three dutch girls staying at the same places as us in Italy - Yay! for shared swimming pools and hot weather :D:D:D)

BTW: don't be afraid to say your own country if that's what you believe!

I have to go with N. America, specifically U.S., just 'cause it's what I know the best. Especially with people my age.

Any particular reason you split Eastern/Western Europe? To draw a line between the Slavic peoples and the Germanic/Latin/Scandanavians?

Probably fair enough when I think about it...

But definitely Western Europe. Although there are attractive people from all over the world. Just more here... :D

I'll be honest. Spending most of my time over the past eight years in chemistry and physics buildings I have developed quite an appreciation of asian women.

It's not just physical (though I can't argue they tend to be nice in that department :) ) I have a great appreciation for a lot of the traditions of asian cultures. Most particularly the strong importance placed on the concept of family and honor that western cultures seem to lack in a lot of situations.

I remember a little Vietnamese girl in my biochem lab class in undergrad that all the guys had s crush on. It started a little Cold War when all the Vietnamese guys got protective of her against all of the caucasians. We called that semester There's Something About Thuy. :D

That's more or less it, yeah. That, or the other possible reason is: I just did.

I have to agree.

One would be hard pressed to find a land without beautifull people.

Some people don't find others beautifull because of entirely different cultures, but there beautifull just the same.

For example, in Eastern Africa, fat women are considered beautifull because it shows wealth, health, and child bearing ability.

Also in Eastern Africa, a normal North American girl would look very ugly because of her hair, as long hair is considered the equivalent of, I don't know, a women growing a beard.

I would also like to point out you left out Arabia, Persia and the lands of the Desi. (Or if you like, the Middle East.)

Those countries... which continent do they technically come under?

OK, I'll add the Middle East.
If I can.

Well, if you want to be technical, then yes, you have done it, but then all the answers shall be rather vague.

However, it's rather late now.

Why? There's many more than five people on these forums...

The one major problem, though, is that people cannot change their votes if they make a mistake...

Italian women. Not only sexy, but great cooks... if they are brought up that way. Not to mention great family values.
